Tantallan Castle

This castle is particularly old - built in the 1350s. It would be in much better shape if it weren't for all the wars it had seen, in particular the final invasion by Oliver Cromwell with his heavy guns. This is not a royal castle either, it was owned by a powerful baronial family, 'The Douglas Earls' that managed to piss the royalty off quite a bit - both King James IV and V attacked this castle.
